Tutima Glashütte presents the award-winning Patria with a light blue dial

Recently voted ‘Mechanical Watch of the Year’ at the Inhorgenta fair, the Patria features a new dial reminiscent of the bright blue sky and is equipped with the Tutima 617 manufacture movement. The 41-millimetre case of this three-hand watch is made of highly polished grade 5 titanium.

ightness in colour and form, paired with the finest watchmaking: the new Patria with its manufacture movement Tutima 617 is an invitation to experience time with ease – in the truest sense. The 41-millimeter case of this three-hand watch is crafted from highly polished Grade 5 titanium. This high-tech material not only impresses with its reduced weight and enhanced resilience, but is also exceptionally skin-friendly.

The architecture of the case is equally clear and refined. Constructed from only two components, it is designed without a separate caseback. Sapphire crystal on both the front and reverse ensures comprehensive protection while setting the stage for the shimmering light blue dial – and what lies beneath: the manufacture movement Tutima 617, assembled from 171 individual parts and finished with loving attention to detail by the watchmakers in the Glashütte atelier.

The dial is the undeniable visual focal point. Like a bright blue sky, it magically draws the eye. Its three-dimensional pyramid structure captures the light from a variety of angles, allowing the soft blue hue to reveal ever-changing nuances. The vibrant interplay of radiant reflections and subtle shadows creates an alluring depth, forming a multifaceted diamond pattern. Applied and diamond-cut indices, together with in-house crafted and manually finished hands, set refined accents. In keeping with the color theme, they are coated with Super-LumiNova and glow blue in the dark.

The recessed small seconds with its fine grooved texture, the flat outer minute track, and the precisely proportioned relationship between hands and hour markers emphasize the harmonious balance of the Patria. The historic logo from the brand’s founding era seals this commitment to aesthetic excellence.

True to Glashütte watchmaking, the in-house hand- wound caliber Tutima 617 is executed with a three-quarter plate featuring fine ribbing, hand-beveled edges, and ruby bearings set in screwed gold chatons spanning the gear train and barrel.

The open-worked balance cock provides an unobstructed view of the in-house free-sprung oscillation system with a hand bent Breguet overcoil. The manual-winding caliber draws its energy from direct interaction with its wearer. Thanks to a specially engineered ratcheting mechanism and the ergonomically shaped crown, regular winding becomes a cherished ritual. When fully wound, the movement offers a power reserve of at least 65 hours.

The seemingly weightless hue of the dial is complemented by a light graphite-gray sheepskin leather strap, completing the Patria’s distinctly modern presence on the wrist. The finely tanned, hand-stitched strap with a titanium pin buckle is pleasingly supple and ensures – together with the curved lugs – exceptional wearing comfort.

The new Patria unites time-honored watchmaking with forward-looking freshness. The bright blue dial and Grade 5 titanium lend the classic three-hand manual-winding watch an elegant sense of lightness. And embody what may be the most precious luxury of all: the freedom to enjoy time with ease.

“A watch that impresses through precision, character, and masterful execution.” These were the standards set by the jury of national and international industry experts for submissions in the “Mechanical Watch of the Year” category. For precisely these qualities, Patria from Tutima Glashütte received the 2026 Inhorgena Award.

The Award ranks among the most prestigious distinctions in the watch and jewelry industry. Now in its ninth edition, it was presented across ten categories. The ceremony took place on February 21 during the Award Gala at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich, marking the highlight of Germany’s largest watch and jewellery fair.

“We are truly delighted that our Patria has been recognized as ‘Mechanical Watch of the Year.’ In a special way, this watch embodies what has distinguished Tutima Glashütte throughout its eventful history: the courage to continually unite heritage and innovation,” states Matthias Stotz, CEO of Tutima Glashütte GmbH & Co. KG. “I would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this success – our team in Glashütte and especially the shareholder family. I would also like to dedicate this award to our founder, Dr. Ernst Kurtz, who always believed in the fine wristwatch from the very beginning and guided it forward through many challenges.”
