he tradition of Carnival, especially the Venetian one, whose origins date back to the 15th century, takes shape in a watch based on the classic Redentore model, expressing its strength and elegance through a multicoloured dial, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship and hand-finishing.
Venezianico explores the universal language of colour and geometry through Arlecchino, one of the most popular and instantly recognisable masks of Carnival, not only in Venice but throughout Italy and the world. A complex and layered figure, Arlecchino is not merely a symbol of energy, intelligence and movement, but also a metaphor for life itself: a constant balance between order and chaos, lightness and wit, improvisation, resilience and awareness. A mask that teaches us to face the world with irony, adaptability and critical spirit, transforming hardship into play and disorder into opportunity.
From this vision comes a limited edition of 400 pieces, merging cultural imagination with formal rigour, transforming the dial into a true artistic composition.
Arlecchino’s famous multicoloured diamond-pattern costume is reinterpreted on the dial through a precise geometry, capable of organising colour into a harmonious and dynamic structure, creating a contemporary mosaic of striking visual impact. The dial takes shape from an engraved three-dimensional base, where each individual cell is filled by hand with cold enamel. A highly meticulous artisanal process, requiring extreme precision both in colour dosing and in the study of chromatic pairings, to achieve a vibrant, coherent and perfectly legible composition. The enamelled surfaces react differently to light at every angle, while polished silver-toned metallic profiles define each geometry, adding depth and rhythm to the structure and enhancing its kaleidoscopic effect.
The 38 mm case, crafted from 316L stainless steel and only 9.4 mm thick, alternates sandblasted and polished finishes, creating an elegant contrast that frames, beneath an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the multicoloured dial without ever overpowering it. This technical choice improves visual separation and ensures immediate readability, enhanced by well-defined dauphine hands that remain clearly recognisable even in changing light conditions.
The caseback completes the narrative, transforming into a true canvas of art: the engraving of Arlecchino, hand-finished with cold enamel in the same chromatic geometry as the dial, makes the reverse of the watch an integral part of the project. Encapsulating its meaning is an Italian phrase engraved on the back, summarising its spirit:
“Arlecchino dances among the deceptions of the world, colouring chaos with the cunning of a smile.”
A poetic detail that recalls the theatrical tradition of Italian Carnival and its ability to offer, through the mask, a profound and universal key to understanding existence.
Redentore Arlecchino is a timepiece that unites balanced proportions, wrist comfort and a strong aesthetic identity, embracing and conveying the timeless message of Arlecchino and Carnival itself: facing life with irony, intelligence and lightness, transforming every movement of the hands into an invitation to meet adversity with the right spirit.
