ebois & Co unveils the Heritage Chronograph Atelier – Coquille d’œuf, the first in a new generation of Heritage Chronograph models that honour the Métiers d’Art of Swiss watchmaking. Launching in the brand’s 90th anniversary year, this exceptional timepiece pairs refined chronograph mechanics with one of the most challenging decorative crafts: the Grand Feu enamel dial.

The Atelier line within the Heritage Chronograph family celebrates traditional dial-making arts such as guilloché and Grand Feu enamel — disciplines requiring skill, patience, and a dedication to perfection. The Coquille d’œuf — French for “eggshell” — is named for its soft, warm dial hue, evoking timeless elegance and the natural colour tones achieved by this age-old technique.

The Coquille d’œuf is offered exclusively by souscription, a historic approach to watchmaking where clients secure their timepiece before production begins. This tradition, embraced by some of the most prestigious maisons, allows the craft to remain entirely focused on quality rather than mass production. In 2025, just 25 examples will be produced, each made to order for its future owner.

The dial is a three-part construction: a main plate with two individually recessed subdials, each produced separately and soldered into place.

Every surface is hand-coated with enamel powder, fired at over 800 °C to fuse the glass to the copper base, then built up in multiple layers to achieve depth and tension balance. The graphics — logo, scales, numerals — are pad-printed by hand using enamel-based inks, each colour applied separately and aligned with sub-millimetre precision before a final firing permanently bonds the markings to the surface.

The result is a dial with a living radiance, slight natural variations, and an unpolished purity — the exact surface as it emerges from the kiln. No two are exactly alike.
