n 2024, in the thick of the economic and geopolitical turmoil affecting the world stage, Code41 created Unify, a collection with a timeless design that embodies strong ideals such as tolerance, equality and diversity. Offered regularly in the form of collaborative limited editions through which are expressed the voices of artists and personalities from all walks of life, Unify’s mission is to transcend the barriers of gender, age and origin to gather together around the fundamental values that unite us.
For its first collaboration as part of the Unify project, Code41 is crusading for equity alongside Sharoz Makarechi, an Iranian-American creative entrepreneur, artist and activist who fled Iran’s Islamic Revolution as a child. Today, she fights relentlessly for inclusivity, a fight she wages through international cultural events, award-winning film making and personal advocacy. The powerful illustration that adorns Unify’s first limited edition comes from her Substance project, which fights against the mass incarceration of black Americans; the clenched fist is synonymous with unity and the defence of Human Rights.
For Code41 and its founder, Claudio D’Amore, it is important to inspire, but also to act. That’s why part of the sales of each of the collaborations will be donated to a humanitarian project of the artist’s choice. In this case, the Equal Justice Initiative. An organisation chosen by Sharoz that fights for human rights and for impartial justice.
With its 38mm diameter suited to all wrists, two types of movement (mechanical or quartz) and a wide range of colors, Unify transcends the barriers of gender, age and origin to celebrate diversity in every form.
Apart from the special edition, the Unify collection is available in three permanent models, including the inspiring Equity Flag variant.
The Equity Flag is the result of the initiative of Sharoz Makarechi. With its spectrum of skin tones, it represents a powerful symbol of unity and inclusivity, fundamental values which are at the heart of Unify.
Beneath the apparent simplicity of this timeless look and its integrated strap, the details are meticulously worked, like the small seconds counter, situated at 9 o’clock on the automatic version and at 6 o’clock on the quartz version, and which, once per minute, forms the symbol of peace in reference to the values of the collection.
“The number 41 is synonymous with independence, authenticity and surpassing oneself. It also represents a commitment to sincere and meaningful values. That’s what has guided us since the beginning, and the Unify project only reinforces our conviction that creativity can change the world.” – Claudio D’Amore, Code41 founder and creative director.
The Unify collection is available in both mechanical and quartz versions. For the purists and lovers of mechanical magic, the Unify Automatic features the robust Swiss Sellita SW290 movement, visible through the open back. For those who prefer precision and practicality, the quartz version is fitted with a high-quality Swiss Ronda movement that offers extended autonomy of more than 5 years.
