uervo y Sobrinos unveils a new dial variant for its Prominente Solo Tiempo timepiece. The tobacco-coloured dial seems very apt for this Cuban-inspired timepiece. The Caribbean island is the home of the Havana cigar, widely considered the finest in the world and an exemplar of luxury.

Housed in a large, elongated case measuring 33.75 mm x 52 mm, the Prominente Solo Tiempo confers much wrist presence. While a casual glance may lead some observers to describe the case as rectangular, its profile proves far more sophisticated. The upper surfaces of the case are stepped with the sides sitting on a lower plane. Furthermore, the vertical flanks encompass gently curving lines, delivering an attractive contrast to the many straight edges employed throughout.

The tobacco ‘guilloché’ dial is adorned with a wave-like motif and provides the perfect foil for the various dial elements to shine. Indeed, the faceted hour and minute hands, presented in a luxurious golden hue, state the time clearly. The hours are denoted with stylized Arabic numerals presented in rich golden tones. An oval-shaped piece of mother-of-pearl sits at the centre of the dial, further heightening the overall sense of luxury.

An applied CyS emblem is positioned at 12 o’clock, while a date indication is located above 6 o’clock. A slender central sweep seconds hand completes the model’s inventory of functions. The sumptuous dial is framed with a classical chemin de fer, augmenting the overall readability of the display.

A Swiss automatic movement, the Calibre CYS 5103, sits at the heart of the watch and can be viewed through a see-through caseback. The watch is presented on a brown matte Louisiana alligator strap paired with a stainless steel folding buckle.
