Are groups compatible with Baselworld?

It’s not all about coronavirus... Swatch Group’s decision to leave Baselworld is in line with a fundamental trend: after grappling with the production chain and distribution networks, groups now want to take control of the timing and conditions of how their new products are presented. Richemont was a forerunner of this strategy when it left the Basel exhibition in 1999. Kering and LVMH are also moving in this direction. However, will the pandemic outbreak unite the industry again?
