An advanced type of liquid crystal electronic time display. Of the “field effect”, it offers the following advantages over earlier “dynamic scattering” designs
- better legibility, with black figures on a light-coloured background
- low-voltage power supply, from i .5V to 5V, eliminating the need for a tension converter ;
- low power consumption, in the one-microwatt range ;
- operates in a high temperature range (-150 to +600 C).
Various display possibilities exist, depending on the capacity of the circuits selected by the customer. The basic display is pictured here with a capacity of three and a half digits , a decimal point and a half-day indicator to distinguish between a.m. and p.m. time.
