Watchmaking has stalled, while jewellery is pulling ahead. From its earliest days, the watch business has frequently been torn between industrial imperatives and precious temptations. In these uncertain times, the question has become all the more pressing: in order to pull through, should watchmaking seek salvation in that most precious and intimate of forms – jewellery?
