Emap Business Europe, one of Europe's leading organisers of retail trade shows, has just completed the acquisition of Print'Or, via its French subsidiary Agor.
Print'Or is a trade show dealing with the Watchmaking, Jewellery and Gold- and Silversmith sectors, and brings together 11,000 professional visitors from 3,500 sales outlets.
The acquisition of Print'Or is in line with the external growth policy of the group which had been announced by Agor's new Chairman René Pérès, on his appointment last September. The purchase is part of a development programme gathering momentum with strong European potential
Through this deal, Agor has become a pivotal part of Emap Business Europe's developing business interests in France.
EBE is a subsidiary of Emap plc, one of the UK's largest media groups, traded on the London Stock Exchange. The group is present in a number of countries including France, and has a portfolio of trade and consumer magazines, radio stations, television channels and trade fairs. Emap plc boasts a turnover of 1.6 billion Euros.
Founded in 1992 in Lyon, Print'Or started out with 70 exhibitors, mainly from the surrounding region, and today boasts nearly 400 companies from throughout France and other neighbouring countries.
Print'Or has positioned itself as a leading forum for the latest trends which allows exhibitors to promote their latest collections, meet their clients and expand their market base.
Despite a fairly despondent economic climate, Print'Or continues to thrive by searching out tomorrow's new talent through its International Young Designers competition, a contest which draws on talent from design and art schools from the profession
Renowned for its professionalism and friendly environment, Print'Or will take place in Lyon from 1 to 3 February 2004, for its 12th show.
