Gold design takes center stage

The World Gold Council recently announced to U.S. designers the launch of its second Gold Virtuosi competition. Called the `Oscars' for gold jewelry, the competition inspires and honors designers working with this precious metal. The World Gold Council is expecting the competition to grow in size this year. Last year, more than 1,200 entries were received from around the world.
A panel of experts comprising fashion photographers, jewelry designers and journalists will judge all entries. The winning pieces will be showcased at a gala during the June Vicenza Fair.
