New Patek Philippe S.A. production site in La Vallée

December 2010

To consolidate its presence in the Vallée de Joux, Patek Philippe has inaugurated a new production centre in Le Brassus, grouping its Watchmaking, Fine Watchmaking and Restoration activities which were previously located in Le Sentier. This investment marks Patek Philippe’s determination to be closer to the watchmaking know-how and specialized schools of the Vallée de Joux.

The building comprises three specialized workshops previously located at Le Sentier which count a total staff of 25 employees. The Watchmaking workshop grouping 12 watchmakers specializes in the setting up of Patek Philippe perpetual calendar modules. The Fine Watchmaking workshop with five watchmakers is in charge of the assembly, finishing, encasing and setting the strikes of the selfwinding minute repeaters, while the International Customer Service workshop with its eight watchmakers repairs and restores complicated timepieces.

The Geneva watchmaker has chosen to reinforce its presence in the Vallée de Joux in order to have access to a qualified workforce and be closer to specialized schools, thereby contributing to the promotion and transmission of watchmaking know-how. Patek Philippe is keen to underline the excellent support provided by the local and communal authorities which took an active part in the works progress.
