Greubel Forsey leads auction at Sotheby’s

October 2010


Sotheby’s Hong Kong’s October6,2010 sale of Important Watches totalled US$7.14 million (Est. US$5.7-7.7 million), establishing Sotheby’s highest-ever total for a various owners sale of Important Watches. The auction was 79.9% sold by lot and 85.8% by value.

Asian and European collectors enthusiastically competed for exceptional examples of haute horlogerie. Leading the sale was a Greubel Forsey platinum double tourbillon wristwatch with 72-hour power reserve and mother-of-pearl dial, circa 2004, Double Tourbillon 30º Vision No. 2 which sold for US$ 325,641 (Est. $200,000 – 300,000, illustrated above).
