Following the recent publication of the new watchmaking book “Twelve Faces of Time – Horological Virtuosos”, the author Elizabeth Doerr and photographer Ralf Baumgarten will be signing books with 11 of the watchmakers during BaselWorld on Saturday, March 20 and Sunday, March 21 at 2:00 pm directly in front of Hall 1.0.



The book treats the subject of the passing of the hours, the one thing we all have in common. Long the subject of philosophical musings, time waits for none of us. This thought-provoking volume profiles twelve very distinct masters in the world of high-end horology. We learn of the unique process, infinite precision and personal vision each brings to his craft. Through text and photographs we gain a heartfelt understanding of the fine detail and delicate artistry that is the hallmark of mechanical watchmaking at its highest echelons.

The 11 watchmakers portrayed in the book and who will be present at the signing are: Philippe Dufour, Vianney Halter, Felix Baumgartner, Thomas Prescher, Volker Vyskocil, Paul Gerber, Beat Haldimann, Dr. Ludwig Oechslin, Kari Voutilainen, Roger Smith, and François-Paul Journe.
