www.worldwatchweb.com - Watch sales for October 2009 saw an overall improvement from September 2009, according to new data from LGI Network.
The overall market was flat on a same-store dollar basis, with $325 million worth of fine watches sold at MSRP value. In September, the market had declined 13 percent.
Blancpain's new 500 Fathoms diver's watch measures 48 mm in diameter and is water-resistant to 1,000 meters. An automatic decompression valve, placed inside the brushed titanium case, guarantees the security and reliability of the watch without requiring any handling on the part of the wearer.
The market contracted in unit terms by 4 percent on a same-store basis, with 312,500 units sold.
As for price points, while all ranges, from entry-level to couture, experienced improvements, the $800-$999.99 price range saw the greatest uptick for the month, LGI reports.
