Bank Julius Baer offers a scholarship for talented young watchmakers

June 2009

Bank Julius Baer has proudly announced an annual scholarship for a talented young watchmaker. The beneficiary will be named on September 17, 2009 at the Musée international d'horlogerie, MIH, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, during the award of the “Prix Gaïa”, regarded as the “Nobel Prize” of watchmaking.

The Julius Baer scholarship will enable a promising young watchmaker to develop a personal project with the MIH, a master watchmaker or a watchmaking company offering a professional framework and competences that will encourage his success.

The scholarship will be awarded by a jury made up of representatives of Bank Julius Baer and the MIH, as well as watchmaking experts.

Rémy Bersier, member of the bank's executive committee, points out that the idea of Julius Baer's scholarship sprang from the combination of our admiration for the expert craft of watchmaking, our shared passion for excellence and our desire to promote tomorrows's creators.
