At the sale of May 11, 2009, at Christie's, the market reacted enthusiastically to the previously unrecorded, one owner family Breguet hump-back travel clock originally owned by Caroline Bonaparte, Queen of Naples.
This masterpiece of important history, consigned by a direct descendant of Caroline Bonaparte sold after a fierce bidding battle to the prestigious Breguet Museum for SFr. 723,000 fetching over triple its pre-sale estimate.
