Jaquet Droz Introduces Limited Editions

March 2009

Jaquet Droz

Two tourbillons. A dual time with a choice of two dials. A pocket watch.
These are three of the novelties Jaquet Droz will present this year at BaselWorld. Each of them is done in the Jaquet Droz way, which means something different and always interesting.
The tourbillons, for example, include one with an onyx dial (Tourbillon Onyx), while the other tourbillon (Tourbillon RÉserve de Marche) adds the additional complications of retrograde date and 88-hour power reserve indicator. The first tourbillon is 44 mm, available in eight pieces, while the second is 47 mm, available in 28 pieces.

The dual time watch Jaquet Droz introduces at BaselWorld comes in two variations - one in meteorite and one in aventurine. Produced in limited editions of eight each, Les Deux Fuseaux minÉraux pack a lot of information on these beautiful dials: hours and minutes counter at 12 o’clock, small seconds at 6 o’clock, centered hours and minutes for the 2nd time-zone, date at 3 o’clock and 24 hour counter at 9 o’clock.
Finally, the pocket watch echoes the iconic Jaquet Droz piece, la Grande Seconde Émail, manufactured in 1785, which was redone as a wristwatch and has become the flagship model for the brand. This year, Jaquet Droz does this design in its original form, as a Montre de Poche.
