Masterpieces of French Horology chez F.P. Journe

January 2009

To inaugurate the first week of the 2009 watch salons, François-Paul Journe will open the exhibition room of his Manufacture to the public, the members of the International Press and the watch visitors from the entire world, to present:

“Chefs d’Oeuvre de l’Horlogerie Française ”, a historic collection of 12 unique clocks made by the great French Masters of the 18th and 19th centuries: Lépine, Detouche, Bouchet and Robin. Among these outstanding clocks, some were made for major figures of French history, such as Louis XVI King of France and Empress Josephine de Beauharnais. They bear witness to the importance of the horological works of the period, and contribute to the renewed appreciation of the horology of France, birthplace of François-Paul Journe.
