USA: London Jewelers & Omega host watch-making event

November 2008

The Omega watch brand and London Jewelers held an exclusive, invitation-only dinner last month, inviting watch collectors and the retailer's best customers to a demonstration by acclaimed watch-making trainer and horologist Dan Fenwick.

The event took place on Oct. 15 at the New York Institute of Technology de Seversky Center in Old Westbury, N.Y. Guests in attendance watched as Fenwick highlighted Omega's revolutionary co-axial escapement technology and presented the Hour Vision and technical features of the “Calibre 8500” timepiece.

At the end of the evening, guests got to try their own hands at watch-making. With the direction of Fenwick, those in attendance were able to fully disassemble an assortment of Omega mechanical timepieces.

Earlier this year, Omega partnered with Greenwich, Conn.-based Manfredi Jewels for a fine-dining experience paired with a watch-making demonstration, also helmed by Fenwick.
