BASELWORLD constitutes the most important event in the sector for more than 100,000 visitors from all over the globe. The World Watch and Jewellery Show will be opening its doors in Basel once again from April 3 to 10, 2008. With the new Hall of Impressions for jewellery exhibitors and the reconfigured Hall of Fascinations for watch brands, the Show will have even more on offer. Exhibitors at BASELWORLD will similarly be able to enhance the quality of their presentations through the additionnal floorspace that has now been made available.
BASELWORLD – the World Watch and Jewellery Show – will be consolidating its leading position as the top international show and the number-one rendezvous for the sector this year too. A total of 2100 exhibitor companies are presenting their product innovations over a surface area of 160,000 m2. And those exhibiting their products are increasingly benefiting from the enormous interest shown by the specialist and lifestyle media, as well as by the daily press and business press. Way above 2500 journalists from all over the world will be reporting on innovations and trends in the course of the Show.
Prominent, high-calibre exhibitors the recipe for success
All the eminent watch and jewellery brands will be present in Basel once again. Over the past few months, a number of exhibitors have announced that BASELWORLD will be the only Show that they will attend in future. This highlights the importance of the Show in providing impetus to the luxury goods industry. The Show management is abiding by its successful concept of always paying attention to the quality of the participating brands and to the significance of companies on the world market when allocating stand space. In this way, the Show is always guaranteed to reflect the constantly changing markets.
New for watch brands: the Hall of Fascinations
BASELWORLD continues to maintain its immense importance for the further development of all the different segments of the watch industry. The full range of watch brands on the market has been represented in Basel, without exception, right from the start. And, in response to the constantly growing demand for exhibition space for watch brands, the Show management has revised its concept for the different sectors involved. With the newly designed “Hall of Fascinations” in building 2, exhibitors are now being given more space to present their brands and products in an optimum manner.
Hall of Impressions: the new jewellery hall
Demand from exhibitors in the jewellery sector is also running at a very high level. With their growing branding activities, this exhibitor group requires an increasing amount of space for a presentation commensurate with their brands in the setting of BASELWORLD. The extended “Hall of Visions” provides a top-notch platform for the prestige jewellery brands. And the newly furbished “Hall of Impressions” in building 3 offers an additional 8500 m2 exhibition space, opening up a new world for jewellery exhibitors. The sophisticated décor and stand concept allows those exhibiting here to present their products in a truly upmarket setting. In parallel to this, exhibitors in the “Hall of Feelings” in building 2 all have more space at their disposal. BASELWORLD is thus able to depict the full versatility of the jewellery sector too.
BASELWORLD Palace as an additional platform
BASELWORLD Palace constitutes a further innovation for this year’s World Watch and Jewellery Show, marking a new approach on the part of the Show management to achieving attractive presentations and extending what the Show has to offer its professional visitors. The BASELWORLD Palace is a temporary installation located in a prime position right at the exhibition square. A select group of exhibitors is using this generously-dimensioned, lounge-like platform for their highly refined presentations, offering guests an exquisite Show experience.
Diamonds, precious stones and pearls established at a high level
BASELWORLD is set to retain its role as the annual rendezvous for the international diamond and precious stone trade too. The key global traders will be present in the “Hall of Elements” this year, once more. Alongside the watch and jewellery sectors, the diamonds, precious stones and pearls sector has become established at a high level at BASELWORLD. These suppliers too are able to profit from the world Show to present their products in a conducive atmosphere and forge new customer contacts.
BASELWORLD Daily News to be further enhanced
The BASELWOLRD Daily News continues to be a resounding success, attracting a great deal of interest from visitors and exhibitors alike. The quality and scope of the BASELWORLD Daily News is to be further enhanced, once again, this time round. The paper provides visitors with the latest news from the Show on a daily basis, reporting on the participating brands and their activities. It also provides a comprehensive overview of what is taking place in the sectors in question.
BASELWORLD Village as a visitor magnet in the evenings
Under the motto “Highlight the Night”, the Show management launched the BASELWORLD Village for the first time last year – as an evening rendezvous outside the Show – which proved to be a great success. Large numbers of exhibitors and visitors benefited from this attractive networking platform right in the heart of Basel, where they were pampered with both culinary and musical delights. BASELWORLD Village will be hosting guests once again at this year’s Show. Visitors can look forward to an extended range of gastronomical offerings and a more frequent shuttle service.
