BASELWORLD within the flourishing luxury goods business
In keeping with its importance as the world’s leading trade event, BASELWORLD provides a positive springboard for the sector, reflecting the current impressive economic strength of the luxury goods industry. Show director, Sylvie Ritter, comments: “The current boom in the luxury goods business and the favourable prevailing economic climate are important to the success of BASELWORLD. As a result, our exhibitors' expectations for the coming Show will be higher than ever. At the same time the Show itself will give the industry a dynamic boost”. Specialist dealers have been experiencing thriving sales recently, and will therefore be coming to Basel with a good deal of optimism, which in turn will have a very positive impact on exhibitors and suppliers alike. Ritter adds: “In the past two years the feedback from exhibitors and visitors has confirmed that BASELWORLD greatly enhances the buoyancy of the existing economic climate”.
“Highlight the Night”: Premiere of the 'BASELWORLD illage'
The Show's organisers will be offering all visitors and exhibitors an attractive opportunity to further expand their networking activities, courtesy of the new ‘BASELWORLD Village’. In an elegant yet informal atmosphere, guests of the global event will be able to enjoy this evening venue outside of the Show itself. Located in the centre of Basel, the BASELWORLD Village comprises two restaurants, two bars and several lounges, together with attractive areas outside. It is designed to enable visitors to network on an international scale, expanding their business contacts beyond the Show itself within a similar BASELWORLD environment, thereby greatly adding to the overall Show experience. The BASELWORLD Village will be open every evening from 6pm to 2am during the Show and is located just 10 minutes from the showground by shuttle bus, tram or taxi.
More good news: New décor for the Hall of Dreams
The successful concept of clear market segmentation and distinction between the halls has been retained by the Show's management. The consistent implementation of the concept continues to be warmly received by both exhibitors and visitors. In addition, the very high standard imposed by the management team on stand design and display ensures the highest quality of presentation and décor – both around the showground and within the Halls. In recent years considerable effort has been invested in upgrading the design of the Hall of Universe (national pavilions), the Hall of Elements (precious stones), the Hall of Visions’ First Avenue (prestige jewellery), and for the showground as a whole. In the case of the forecourt and foyer of the Hall of Dreams (watch brands of international repute), it has been completely redecorated and given a contemporary facelift for the 2007 event. Innovations all of which are designed to create a stunning and opulent setting for the numerous premium brands exhibiting at BASELWORLD 2007.
