This weekend in Silverstone, England, witnessed the second race in the Trofeo Audemars Piguet Maserati Europe, a championship of gentlemen drivers dedicated to motor sports.
Between two sunny spells, the 100% British rainy weather made the competition extremely spectacular. “Locating the braking spots with this kind of visibility was no easy task”, explained Jean-Claude Andruet, a friend of the brand and the driver of the Audemars Piguet VIP Car.
This weekend, he was sharing the wheel with English journalist Mark Hales. Together, they gave a fine performance, moving up from 13th to a highly honourable 11th place in the final rankings, and achieving the best peak speed at 220.8 km/h.
The next event in the trophy is scheduled to take place Brno, Czech Republic, from May
26th to 28th 2006.
