Sotheby’s announces new appointments

May 2006

Ronny Wooter, head of the Geneva watch department and Alexander Barter as Senior Specialist, International Watches

The excellent results achieved by Sotheby's at its April watch sales in Hong Kong and London demonstrate the current strength of this market. In this positive climate, Sotheby's is delighted to announce the appointment of Ronny Wooter, watch specialist and auctioneer, as head of the Sotheby's Geneva Watch Department and the appointment of Alexander Barter to the post of Senior Specialist, International Watches, tasked with optimising the team's effectiveness in the international arena. These changes will be effective as of June 1, 2006. Ronny Wooter will be assisted in Geneva by Eva Dreesmann, cataloguer, and Aurélie Chapgier-Laboissière, administrator.

The next watch sale will be held in Geneva on May 16, 2006, showcasing an important and unique double open-faced Grande Complication pocket watch made by Patek Philippe in 1914 for George Thompson. A press release for this sale is available on request.
