Over 2,100 exhibitors in the watch and jewellery industry from 42 nations will present their latest designs and collections on a floor area of 160,000 m2. Many exhibiting companies will again have an exclusive presence at BASELWORLD.
Successful Show concept implemented throughout
As the leading platform worldwide for the watch and jewellery industry, BASELWORLD has positioned the stands within its halls to reflect the structure of the market. This Show concept has been implemented throughout and has been welcomed warmly by exhibitors and visitors alike. An initiative that has further secured the standing of BASELWORLD as a global meeting point and a guarantor of quality standards.
In keeping with its importance and its extraordinary character, BASELWORLD forecast that it would provide the necessary momentum for further industry growth. All the feedback from exhibitors and visitors has confirmed the accuracy of this assertion: the world-leading Show has indeed further strengthened its reputation as the main sales event for the watch and jewellery industry.
As the leading platform of its kind in the world, BASELWORLD provides the ideal environment for business and networking, offering visitors an unparalleled diversity of products.
Hall of Elements – an attraction in itself
The Show’s management has gone to considerable lengths to offer every exhibitor the best possible infrastructure. After the successful structural additions and changes to other halls at BASELWORLD, the Hall of Elements has also received an attractive facelift this year, giving it a unique identity. Exhibitors are now able to present their products – precious stones and pearls – in a newly designed hall. It is a development that has given us the opportunity to create a superb venue with sufficient space to accommodate multistorey stands for the first time. This significant upgrade of the Hall of Elements offers the precious stone and pearl sector a setting within the World Watch and Jewellery Show that is commensurate with its importance within the marketplace. In addition to the watch and jewellery areas, the precious watch and stone sector is gaining increasing prominence at BASELWORLD. The world’s leading suppliers and dealers will be present in Basel.
More visitor services
Our range of service for visitors has also been further improved this year. You can now choose from eleven languages on the BASELWORLD website, www.baselworld.com. Information about the World Watch and Jewellery Show is now not only available in English, but also in Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese, Hebrew, French, Japanese and German. This wide selection of languages is an innovation for online communication within the watch and jewellery industry. This revolutionary development yet again underlines BASELWORLD’s commitment to maintaining the pre-eminence of the Show as a major worldwide event.
An online reservation system for hotel rooms is also provided for the first time this year. Visitors to BASELWORLD will find overnight accommodation in Switzerland and the adjoining regions of Germany and France at www.baselworld.com.
Great media interest
The importance of BASELWORLD for the industry is further highlighted by the fact that the media hold the world Show in extremely high esteem. At last year’s BASELWORLD, 2,123 journalists from 55 countries received accreditation. All of the authoritative trade journals, hundreds of lifestyle magazines, daily newspapers and online media from around the world as well as countless television stations reported on BASELWORLD and the innovations and products unveiled in Basel.
